Fatal Accident Occurs in Gwinnett County, Leaving a Woman Dead
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – According to an online news report at 11alive.com, a 38 year old woman died following a serious accident close to Loganville, Georgia.*
The accident occurred over the weekend close to the intersection of Athens Highway close to Rosebud Road.
Per the Gwinnett County Police, an automobile that was going westbound on Athens Highway was attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot of a local supermarket. This is when it collided with another vehicle traveling on the roadway going eastbound. The impact of the accident caused the death of a woman who was travelling in the inside of the vehicle that was turning left.
The drivers of both of the vehicles involved in the crash were transported to an area hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. Police indicate that the driver of the vehicle that was attempting to turn left was responsible for the crash. This individual is listed as in critical condition. The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident. It is suspected that alcohol may have placed a role in causing the accident.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. As noted above, the crash remains under investigation by the police.
As a result of the accident, the easterly lanes of the Athens Highway was blocked for over two hours while emergency personnel investigated the scene. No other information is available.
