Multi-Vehicle Accident Occurs on I-75 in Tampa, Florida
TAMPA, FL. – According to a news report published online at fox13news.com, a multi-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 75 in Tampa, Florida. It is not clear at this time if any injuries were sustained, but the collision caused several lanes of the interstate to close down, leading to a heavy traffic backup in the area.*
The accident took place in the early morning by the Bruce B. Downs Boulevard exit on the southbound side of I-75 in Tampa. Florida Highway Patrol and Fox 13 report that at about 5 a.m., three vehicles somehow collided on the interstate. The nature and circumstances of the collision were not reported in the news story.
Fox 13 did not say what types of vehicles were involved in the collision, nor did the report contain information on the events that led to the accident. It is not clear if anyone was injured in the collision or if paramedics responded to the scene. No one involved in the accident was identified, and the report did not say how many people were involved in total.
Following the accident, the southbound portion of the interstate was closed down except for one lane. This allowed crews to investigate at the scene and clear the wreckage. The lane closures caused traffic to move quite slowly through the area for some time. It is not clear how long the interstate remained closed.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, and at the time the Fox 13 news report was posted online, Troopers had not released additional details about the collision.
