Georgia Woman Tragically Dies After Months in Hospital for Car Accident Injuries
AUGUSTA, GA. – According to an online news report from wrdw.com, a Georgia woman has tragically died after spending months in a hospital for car accident injuries. The accident occurred more than two months ago, when the woman reportedly lost control of her vehicle on Bobby Jones Expressway in Richmond County, Georgia.*
The accident occurred earlier in 2019 on westbound Bobby Jones Expressway. A woman was reportedly traveling west and somehow lost control of her vehicle. The news report does not say what kind of vehicle she was driving or what caused her to lose control of the vehicle. The woman’s vehicle was in the right lane at the time and subsequently crossed through all of the other lanes of travel on the roadway.
Upon crossing all the lanes on Bobby Jones Expressway West, the woman’s vehicle reportedly crashed into the median. It does not appear that any other vehicles collided with the woman’s. Investigators were not reported to have identified any reasons for the crash or events that led to the accident.
WRDW reports that the woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to Augusta University Medical Center. WRDW further reports that, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office, the woman tragically died from her injuries after spending more than two months in the hospital. She was identified as being 74 years old. Her city of residence was not reported.
It is not clear if the accident is still under investigation. No further details about the incident were included in the news report from WRDW.
