A man from Greene County tragically died late last week in an accident that caused his wife to be taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital due to serious injuries that she sustained in an accident.
The accident occurred in the late afternoon on Georgia Highway 16 at Pea Ridge Road. The Putnam County Chief Deputy Col. Russell Blenk noted that a sixty-eight-year-old man was travelling eastbound on his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife as a passenger. According to an investigation of the accident, the motorcyclist was attempting to turn left when he hit into the passenger side of a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a male individual.
The husband died at the scene of the accident where his wife was airlifted to an area hospital where she is listed in serious condition.
