Two People are Dead, One Child Injured in an Accident in Gadsden County, Florida
GADSDEN COUNTY, FL – According to an online news report at wctv.tv, the Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to conduct an investigation of an accident that tragically resulted in the death of two individuals. One child was also injured in the crash.*
The accident occurred earlier this week at the intersection of West Jefferson Street and Cleveland Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle was going eastbound on Florida Highway 90 and for unknown reasons, crossed over into the opposite side of traffic. This caused the vehicle to strike another vehicle, which caused the first car to turn over into a parking lot located close nearby.
As a result of the crash, two people died due to the severe nature of their injuries. A four year old child was taken to an area hospital after sustaining a broken ankle and broken neck, per the Florida Highway Patrol.
As noted above, it is not clear what caused the car to cross over into the opposite lane of traffic. Troopers note that two vehicles were involved in the accident but it is quite possible that a third one was also involved.
Investigators on scene are asking any witnesses who saw the incident or have video of it to contact Florida Highway Patrol or the Quincy Police Department.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The current status of the injured child is not known. The accident remains under investigation by local authorities.
