Motorcyclist Dies after Being Ejected from His Bike; Fiery Wreck Occurred
GARNER, NC – According to an online news report at cbs17.com, a motorcyclist has died after being ejected from his bike, per a crash report issued by the Garner Police Department.*
A motorcyclists, identified as a male from Clayton, North Carolina, was ejected from his bike and perished in a fiery wreck in Garner, North Carolina this past weekend, per the Garner police.
The accident occurred in the early evening close to the intersection of Benson Road/North Carolina Highway 50 at Garner Road, per the captain of the Garner police.
The motorcyclist was going in an easterly direction on Garner Road and the car that struck him was going southbound from Broughton Street toward North Carolina Highway 50, according to the police captain.
The motorcyclist and his forty two year old female passenger were riding on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a thirty five mile per hour zone and went through a red light at the above identified intersection. This information was made available from the police report that was issued for the accident.
Once the motorcyclist ran the red light, he slammed into a sports utility vehicle that was going at a low rate of speed. The sports utility vehicle had the right of way and pulled into the intersection as the motorcyclist ran the red light. As a result of the impact of the crash, the motorcyclist and his passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and both vehicles became engulfed in flames. The accident was so forceful that the motorcycle caused the sports utility vehicle to slam into another vehicle on Benson Road. The motorcyclist failed to brake before the accident, which led to the above-referenced series of events.
The motorcyclist died in the accident and his passenger sustained serious injuries. The occupants of the other two vehicles were uninjured.
