Seventy-Year-Old Motorcyclist Succumbs to Injuries Earlier this Week

NORCROSS, GA – According to an online news report at patch.com, a seventy year old male driver of a motorcycle passed away earlier this week due to an accident that involved three automobiles, per the Gwinnett County Police Department.*

A seventy-year-old motorcycle driver tragically perished in an accident that occurred earlier this week in unincorporated Norcross.  The accident involved three vehicles.

The driver was thrown off of his motorcycle and then was struck by another vehicle.  The victim was driving a black motorcycle where police believe that he was trying to make a right turn onto Singleton Road coming from a private drive.

A driver of a gray Toyota Corolla was going in an easterly direction on Singleton Road while in the left lane.

The motorcyclist accidentally drove into the path of the Toyota causing them to collide.  The seventy-year-old motorcyclist was then thrown from his bike and landed in the westerly lanes of the roadway.  As he was lying in the road, he was hit by a gray Nissan Sentra that was going westerly on Singleton Road.

The motorcyclist died as a result of the impact of the crash.  There were no other injuries that were reported regarding the other drivers.  All drivers remained at the scene of the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the police’s Accident Investigation Unit.   The accident occurred in the early morning hours on Singleton Road close to Thompson Parkway located in unincorporated Norcross.  As noted above, there were three cars involved in the crash.  The motorcyclist’s next of kin have been notified.

All three of the vehicles involved in the crash were impounded by law enforcement for further examination.
