Vehicle Pileup Occurs on Interstate 85 in Anderson County, South Carolina

ANDERSON CO, SC – According to an online news article at, a vehicle pileup occurred in Anderson County, South Carolina.  The accident, according to local authorities, involved ten passenger vehicles and two 18-wheelers.*

Interstate 85 is finally open again following an accident that occurred close to mile marker 23 south that involved a number of vehicles.  

Per the news report, “[t]he Piercetown Fire Department and South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the crash, Sunday afternoon. Fire officials said in a social media post that the accident involved 10 cars as well as 2 tractor trailers.”

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, no one died in the crash.  There are no details that are currently available as to whether the accident victims were injured. The accidents remain under investigation by law enforcement.
