CHARLOTTE, NC – According to an online news report at wbtv.com, emergency personnel arrived on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Interstate 485. The accident caused traffic to be delayed on the roadway.*
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the accident scene located close to the Johnson Road exit by Ballantyne during this past weekend.
Four individuals were transported to an area hospital where they were treated for serious injuries. Two others are listed as having sustained life-threatening injuries and were also transported to an area hospital following the crash.

While multi-vehicle accidents can happen in a variety of ways, they are most likely to occur in three types of accidents. These are as follows:
·Crashes at intersections. When a driver is trying to beat a red light, run a red light or fails to yield the right of way at an intersection, he or she can collide with another vehicle that can set off a multiple vehicle accident.
·Highway accidents. Multiple vehicle accidents that happen on highways are extremely dangerous given that drivers are operating their vehicles at high speeds. When a car sets off a chain reaction accident on a highway, the crash can involve twenty or more vehicles in an instant as drivers attempt to avoid the accident but are unable to stop in time.
·Rear-end crashes. A rear-end crash can cause a multiple vehicle accident when a vehicle’s front end slams into the back end of the vehicle in front of them.
