Donations and Prayers Requested for Couple Seriously Injured in an Accident
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA – According to an online news report at thebrunswicknews.com, a couple is seriously injured following a deadly car crash that occurred earlier this week on St. Simons Island, Georgia.*
A 2019 Camaro operated by a 28 year old woman was going at an excessive rate of speed on Ocean Boulevard when it hit into a Dodge Caravan that was driven by another woman. The woman was driving with her husband, who was a passenger in her vehicle.
Both of the women who were located in the Camaro died upon impact. The son of the couple who was injured notes that they are in critical condition and it is worsening each day.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, it appears that driver impairment may have caused the accident.
The accident cause still remains unclear. One resident is troubled by the accident. He believes that others share his sentiment about the crash. “For some reason, this just really bothers me,” the resident said. “So I was speaking with (the Rev.) Steve (Temmer), and we decided to have a little prayer at the crash site. I am getting a big flower arrangement made that we will take there.”
A prayer service will be held this week close to St. Simons Elementary School on St. Simons Island. The public is invited to join the event.
According to the local St. Simons resident, “[s]omething this tragic doesn’t happen on our little island, so we wanted to offer up prayers for both of the families and praise God for the first responders. When things like this happen, it doesn’t just happen to one person, it happens to multiple people. So we wanted to cover our little community with prayer.”
