Woman Remains Hospitalized After Head-On Crash on I-24 in Dade County, Georgia

DADE COUNTY, GA. – According to a news story reported online at newschannel9.com, a woman remains hospitalized after a head-on crash that took place last month on Interstate 24 in Dade County, Georgia. The woman’s son was also injured in the accident, and the driver of the other vehicle tragically died in the crash, according to the news story.*

The accident took place close to Exit 167 on I-24. Georgia State Patrol and News Channel 9 state that a vehicle was driving the wrong direction on the interstate and crashed head-on into another vehicle. News Channel 9 reports that the woman driving the wrong-way vehicle was tragically killed in the accident, and the woman and child in the other vehicle were injured. 

The accident occurred last month, and the woman is still in the hospital recovering from her injuries. The woman’s family members say she suffered a broken leg, broken ribs, broken back, and extensive bruising. Her 7-year-old son has since been released after being treated for a broken collarbone and a concussion. 

The woman’s father told reporters that he was expecting his daughter to be released from the hospital in the coming days, but she would likely require ongoing medical care, including rehabilitation. Her friends have reportedly started a fundraiser selling T-shirts to gather money that will help the woman and her family cover medical expenses associated with the accident. 

Her father said that they welcomes prayers and were keeping the other driver and her family in their prayers. Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the accident, and Troopers have not yet released information regarding the cause of the collision.
