Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Occurs on Holcomb Bridge Road in Peachtree Corners, Georgia

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA. – According to an online news report posted at patch.com, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred on Holcomb Bridge Road in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. The pedestrian was seriously injured, according to the news report, and a suspect was later located and placed under arrest.*

The accident happened in the evening near Crooked Creek Road on Holcomb Bridge Road. The Gwinnett County Police Department and Patch report that a red 2017 Hyundai Sonata was traveling in the area and struck a pedestrian. The report does not say what direction the Hyundai had been traveling or where in the roadway the pedestrian was walking. 

It is unclear if the pedestrian was trying to cross the roadway or was walking along the road. Patch reports that the pedestrian was visibly injured in the accident, and emergency responders transported her to a local hospital for treatment. She was identified as a 28-year-old woman from Smyrna, Georgia. Her current medical condition was not provided in the report. 

The driver of the Hyundai left the scene after the accident, according to police, and officers launched an investigation and search for the individual. A short time after the accident, police officers located a suspect they believed to be the Hyundai driver and placed him under arrest. The suspect was identified as a 22-year-old man from Peachtree Corners. 

Patch reports that police booked the man into the Gwinnett County Detention Center on charges of felony hit-and-run. The suspect has reportedly since been released from jail on bond. The bond amount was not reported.
