Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision Occurs at Rock the South Festival in Cullman, Alabama

CULLMAN, AL. – According to news reports posted online at and, a hit-and-run pedestrian collision occurred at the Rock the South festival in Cullman, Alabama. The pedestrian sustained injuries in the incident, and several law enforcement agencies are working to identify the driver of the vehicle involved and locate a suspect.*

The incident occurred in the afternoon on one of the days of the Rock the South music festival in Cullman. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that a vehicle struck a pedestrian close to the festival venue and then fled the scene shortly before 1 p.m. The details of the crash were not reported in either news story. 

Officials identified the victim as a 30-year-old male, and both news reports state that he was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Authorities said in a statement that he was being treated at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, and he was in stable condition. The extent of the victim’s injuries was not reported. 

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said that Alabama State Troopers and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office were working on the case and were trying to locate the missing vehicle and identify a suspected driver. No description of the vehicle or the driver was released in the reports. 

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has potential information about the vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office by calling (334) 462-7302. No further information was included in either of the news reports regarding the cause or circumstances of the accident.
