Infant Tragically Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Maitland Blvd. in Altamonte Springs, Florida

ALTAMONTE SPINGS, FL. – According to an online news report posted at mynews13.com, an infant was tragically killed in a pedestrian accident on Maitland Boulevard in Altamonte Springs, Florida. A vehicle reportedly struck three people, including the infant, at an intersection, and one adult was also seriously injured.*

Detailed information regarding the incident was not included in the report. The accident happened at the crossing of Maitland and Eden Park Road in Altamonte Springs. Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes said that a car struck three people in the area, including two adults and one child. 

It is not clear where the pedestrians were walking or standing or how the car ended up colliding with the victims. The cause and circumstances of the accident were not described in the news report. A description of the vehicle was not provided, and no information about the driver of the car was reported.

News 13 reports that the child, a 4-month-old infant, was tragically killed in the collision. A 36-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were also injured. The report does not say where the two adults were taken for treatment. The man’s injuries were said to be critical. Current conditions were not reported. 

Crews responding to the scene shut down the westbound side of Maitland Boulevard to allow for investigation. During this time, traffic was rerouted onto Magnolia Homes Road. Florida Highway Patrol said that the Altamonte Springs Police Department will be leading the investigation of the accident. That investigation is ongoing, and it is not clear if charges will be filed.
