Pedestrian Hit by Two Vehicles on Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida

JACKSONVILLE, FL. – According to an online news report published by, a pedestrian was hit by two vehicles on Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida. Tragically, the incident caused the death of the pedestrian. Florida Highway Patrol is managing the case investigation, and Troopers have released limited information.*

The accident happened in the early morning hours between Lem Turner Road and Duval Road on Dunn Avenue. Florida Highway Patrol and News 4 Jax report that a pedestrian was walking in the area at about 12:30 a.m. and was hit by two different cars. The pedestrian was reportedly walking west and was inside the left lane of the roadway. 

The circumstances of the accident are not fully reported. It is not clear how both vehicles struck the pedestrian or what factors were involved in the collisions. News 4 Jax reports that the pedestrian tragically died from her injuries at the scene. She was identified as a 32-year-old woman. 

The drivers of the two cars reportedly both remained at the scene following the incident and have been cooperating with the case investigation. The drivers were not identified, and descriptions of their vehicles were not reported. 

Florida Highway Patrol is still reviewing the facts of the case, and Troopers say that charges are pending, according to the news report.

Experts believe the number of pedestrian fatalities in the state is driven by the design of its roadways, its speed limits, and carelessness on the part of drivers and pedestrians.
