ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC. – According to an online news story reported at wrdw.com, a passenger tragically died in a single-car accident that occurred on Cannon Bridge Road in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. Authorities do not yet know the cause of the accident but say that the driver of the car was also injured in the wreck.*

The crash took place in the late evening in an unknown location on Cannon Bridge Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol and WRDW report that a 2017 Honda Accord was headed southbound on the roadway and somehow traveled off the left side of the street and crashed. Few details about the crash were reported in the news story.

It is not yet clear what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway or how it crashed. Troopers investigating the accident did not immediately report information about the circumstances surrounding the collision or what factors might have been involved. The Honda appears to have been the only vehicle involved in the incident.

WRDW reports that both the driver of Honda and a passenger in the Honda were injured in the wreck, and emergency crews transported both to a local hospital. WRDW further reports that the passenger tragically died at the hospital.

The extent of the driver’s injuries and his or her current condition is not known. Neither the driver nor the passenger was identified in the news report.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers are managing the case investigation. At the time of the WRDW report’s posting online, no additional information had been released regarding the nature of the crash.
