Multi Vehicle Accident Causes Victims to Sustain Serious Injuries
PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL – According to an online news report at newsherald.com, a number of people sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle accident earlier this week, per the Panama City Beach Police Department.*
Panama City Beach police were dispatched to the scene of a rollover traffic accident on Back Beach Road close to Pier Park Drive that occurred recently in the afternoon, per a local news release.
According to the news release, “[u]pon arrival, it was determined [by the police that] six vehicles were involved, one being a dump truck. Preliminary investigation shows the dump truck was traveling east and failed to stop. The dump truck collided with the vehicle in front and a chain reaction caused the four other vehicles to be pushed into each other. The dump truck attempted to over-correct after the first impact and ultimately rolled, landing on the sixth vehicle.”
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by local police. It is not clear as to details of the victims’ injuries. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and no criminal charges are expected to be filed at this time.
