Teenager from Titusville Crashes Vehicle into a Patio of a Mexican Restaurant and Flees the Scene of the Accident

TITUSVILLE, FL – According to an online news report at floridatoday.com, a seventeen year old girl is facing several serious charges and could soon go before a juvenile court judge next month following an accident where she slammed her sports utility vehicle into a Mexican restaurant patio located in Titusville, Florida.*

A girl, aged seventeen, is facing several charges and could go before a juvenile court judge next month due to the fact that she slammed her sports utility vehicle into a Mexican restaurant patio located in Titusville, Florida.  Two people were severely injured as a result of the accident, per law enforcement officials. Following the crash, the teenager decided to flee the scene however, was located later by a police dog, per authorities. 

The Ford sports utility vehicle that the girl was operating rolled toward the restaurant located at 3738 Washington Avenue.  In the process, the girl’s vehicle struck a sign and some of the support beams of the restaurant’s patio, per police.

According to a spokesperson from the Titusville Police Department, “[a]n officer had noticed the way the (SUV) was driving erratically. The driver sped up and ran into the sign.” 

The officer who arrived on the scene of the accident recognized the teenager’s car from having stopped her in the past.  The vehicle’s owner, a twenty four year old, was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident, per authorities.  According to a preliminary investigation of the crash, it appears that the teenager was speeding when it hit into a guardrail, rolled over, and slammed into the patio of the Mexican restaurant. 

It appears that alcohol may have been a factor in causing the crash. The current condition of the injured victims is unknown at this time.  There are no further details on the accident.  The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
