Boca Raton Police Searching For Hit and Run Driver Responsible for a Pedestrian Accident

BOCA RATON, FL  — According to an online news report at bocanewsnow.com, police responded to a hit and run accident that happened at 6401 West Glades Road in Boca Raton, Florida.*

Recently, a hit and run accident occurred where, according to eyewitnesses, a pickup truck was going in an easterly direction along West Glades Road when it hit into a pedestrian located in the lanes of travel.  The driver, after hitting the pedestrian, fled the scene and did not call 911.  The pedestrian, a forty four year old man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He later died due to the severe extent of his injuries.

Surveillance cameras were able to capture video of the suspect’s vehicle, which is a Nissan Titan.  These cameras caught a video of the hit and run driver at the Florida Turnpike Toll Plaza located on West Glades Road right before the accident happened.  

Recently, a lieutenant of the Boca Raton Police Department was able to stop the vehicle riding on the bed of a tow truck that was going along Spanish River Boulevard.  The car, which had extensive front end damage, was being towed to a local repair shop to be fixed.

Through interviews with eyewitnesses, law enforcement has been able to identify the driver, who is a thirty six year old man, as well as two passengers of the suspect automobile.  According to the occupants of the suspect vehicle, the thirty six year old man knew that he had hit a person and chose, nonetheless, to flee the scene of the crash.
