Two Deadly Wrecks Occur One Day Apart in Bartow County, Georgia

May 29, 2019

BARTOW COUNTY, GA. – According to a news report posted online at daily-tribune.com, two deadly wrecks occurred only one day apart in Bartow County, Georgia. Troopers with Georgia State Patrol are investigating both wrecks and have released limited information about the causes of the accidents.*

The first accident happened on Interstate 75 in Bartow County and involved a single vehicle. Georgia State Patrol and The Daily Tribune News report that a vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 and somehow left the roadway near mile marker 293. The vehicle then ran into a tree off of the side of the interstate.

The Daily Tribune News reports that the driver of the vehicle was killed in the accident. He was identified as a 62-year-old man from Michigan. It does not appear from the report that anyone else was riding in the car with him. Troopers believe from preliminary investigation that a medical emergency might have caused the driver to run off the road.

The following day, another accident happened in the county that resulted in a lost life. This accident happened on Old Grassdale Road, near the area of Cass White Road and Busch Drive. A motorcycle traveling on Old Grassdale Road reportedly crashed into another vehicle head-on.

The news report did not say what caused this accident. The Daily Tribune News reported that the motorcyclist tragically died in the crash. He was identified as a 34-year-old man from Canton, Georgia.

Troopers are still reviewing the facts of both accidents, and at the time of the news report’s publishing, they had not reported further information.
