Georgia State Patrol Called to Serious Vehicle Accident in Chatham County, Georgia

CHATHAM COUNTY, GA. – According to a news report published online at fox28media.com, Troopers with Georgia State Patrol were called to the scene of a serious vehicle accident that occurred in Chatham County, Georgia. The nature of the accident was not reported in the Fox 28 news story.*

The accident reportedly occurred on Highway 204 in Chatham County, close to the Forest River Bridge on the eastbound side of the highway. It is not clear how many vehicles were involved in the accident or what types of vehicles were involved, as no vehicle descriptions were included in the news report. 

The nature and circumstances surrounding the crash were also not reported. It is unclear how the crash happened or what events might have led to the incident. The Chatham County Police Department said that the crash caused multiple lanes of travel to be closed down on Highway 204, and drivers were encouraged to seek other routes. Otherwise, drivers needed to expect to be delayed in their travels, police said. 

According to Fox 28, Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene, and Troopers would be taking the lead on the accident investigation. At the time of the Fox 28 report’s publishing online, Chatham County Police and Georgia State Patrol had not released information about whether anyone was injured in the wreck. It is not clear if paramedics went to the scene or took anyone away from the scene for treatment. 

Investigation is still ongoing in the case, and police said that Troopers would likely be providing updated information at a later time.
