Man From Georgia Killed in Accident on Interstate 95 in Virginia

HANOVER, VA – According to an online news report at nbc12.com, a man is dead after succumbing to his injuries in an accident on Interstate 95 in Hanover County.*

A man is dead after being involved in an accident on Interstate 95 in Hanover County, Virginia this past Tuesday.  

The Virginia State Police were dispatched to a scene of a two-automobile accident at mile marker 96 of northern bound I-95 at approximately 12:20 p.m.

According to the police, a 1998 Chevrolet S10 driven by a seventy eight year old man from Brunswick, Georgia was going in a northerly direction on Interstate 95 in the center lane when the automobile veered over to the left and hit into a Ford Mustang on the passenger side of the vehicle which was going in the left lane of traffic.  Both vehicles, as a result of the crash, exited the roadway to the left. The seventy eight year old man was taken to an area hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. His female passenger was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. Two individuals in the Mustang were also taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.  

All four of the individuals in the accident were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

There are no further details on the accident at this time.  The status of the individuals who were injured in the accident is not currently known. The accident remains under investigation by local police.
