Nine-Year-Old is Seriously Hurt in Bicycle Accident in Atlanta, Georgia
ATLANTA, GA – According to an online news report at macon.com, a nine year old girl was hit by a vehicle in the 5200 block of Bloomfield Road in the evening.*
A nine year old girl is critically injured in bicycle accident that occurred on the 5200 block of Bloomfield Road in the evening. The injured child was taken by emergency helicopter to a local hospital, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl is listed as in critical but stable condition.
The accident happened due to a seventeen year old driver of a Mercury Grand Marquis who was going northbound on Bloomfield Road when the girl on her bicycle crossed in front of it, causing her to be struck right before 6:00 p.m., per the news release. The driver and sixteen year old passenger of the Mercury Grand Marquis did not sustain any injuries in the accident.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
