Pedestrian Killed in Vehicle Collision in Iredell County, North Carolina
IREDELL COUNTY, NC. – According to a news story reported online by wbtv.com, a pedestrian was killed in a vehicle collision in Iredell County, North Carolina. The facts of the collision are not completely clear, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol is still in the process of completing its investigation of the case.*
The report from WBTV states that the accident happened on the night but does not specify the time of the accident. North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a pedestrian-versus-vehicle accident that evening on Interstate 77 in Statesville, North Carolina. The collision reportedly occurred near mile marker 51 on the southbound side of the interstate.
A pedestrian was reportedly walking along the interstate and was somehow struck by a southbound vehicle. WBTV states that witnesses at the scene told Troopers that the pedestrian was walking in the shoulder and then ran into the path of a vehicle in one of the south lanes. The vehicle was described as a tow truck.
