Woman Hit, Killed by Vehicle While Walking on I-75 in Fulton County, GA

FULTON COUNTY, GA. – According to online news reports posted at and, a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle as she was walking on Interstate 75 in Fulton County, Georgia. Authorities are not yet sure what led to the accident, and they are still investigating.*

The accident occurred in the early morning hours on Interstate 75 South in Fulton County. A woman was walking along the interstate, according to the news reports, and she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The accident took place between the exits to Cleveland and Central Avenue. 

It is not yet clear where the woman was walking or why she was on the interstate at the time. The report from Fox 5 says that the driver of the vehicle told investigators that the woman was walking in the middle of a lane of travel. The make and model of the vehicle were not reported, but Fox 5 states that it was a pickup truck. 

Both news reports say that the woman died from her injuries. The Fulton County Coroner’s Office has not yet released identifying information on the victim. 

The driver of the vehicle has also not been identified. Fox 5 reports that the driver’s vehicle had damage that suggested he or she tried to avoid hitting the woman. The report from CBS 46 states that charges are not expected to be filed against the driver. 

Following the accident, all lanes on I-75 were closed to allow crews to investigate and clear the area. Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
