Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Vehicle Wreck in Macon, Georgia
MACON, GA. – According to an online news report posted at wgxa.tv, a man has died from the injuries he sustained in a vehicle wreck that occurred earlier in May in Macon, Georgia. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the case, and it is not known whether charges will be filed in connection with the accident.*
The crash happened on Eisenhower Parkway in Macon. Bibb County deputies and WGXA report that at about 4:30 p.m., a Chevrolet pickup truck (model not reported) was traveling on Eisenhower Parkway and began hydroplaning near the intersection with Ivey Drive. It is not clear what direction the truck had been traveling.
When the Chevy began to hydroplane, the driver lost control of the truck, and the vehicle flipped over several times. The report from WGXA did not say what the weather conditions were like at the time of the crash. It is not clear where the truck came to a stop.
WGXA reports that a passenger in the truck was ejected during impact and sustained serious injuries. A prior report from WGXA says the passenger was transported to the Medical Center, Navicent Health in critical condition. On May 14, the Bibb County Coroner’s Office reported that the passenger had died from his injuries. He was identified as a 57-year-old man.
WGXA also reports that the driver of the Chevy was not injured in the accident. He was identified as a 55-year-old man. Deputies say the accident is still under investigation, and it is not known whether charges will be pursued.
