Three People Sustained Injuries in a Gove County Accident

GOVE COUNTY, KS – According to an online news report at hayspost.com, three people sustained injuries in an accident that occurred in Gove County, Kansas.*

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2008 Dodge Ram driven by a fifty seven year old man from Birmingham, Alabama was travelling east on Interstate 70 which is west of Kansas 23.  

When the Dodge Ram entered the median, the male driver lost control of his vehicle.  The vehicle rolled onto the lanes going westbound and then crashed into a 2009 Freightliner driven by a forty four year old man from North Las Vegas, Nevada.

The driver of the Dodge and the Freightliner as well as a passenger of the Dodge, a thirty four year old man from Vestavia, Alabama were all taken to an area hospital for treatment.  It appears that the Dodge driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.  

NEWS UPDATE 

Interstate 70 going west in Gove County has been opened to traffic once again, per the Gove County Sheriff’s Office.  The Kansas Highway Patrol were on the scene of the accident, which caused part of the roadway to be closed for about three hours.  Due to emergency personnel working the scene, Interstate 70 was closed westbound located at exit 95 in Gove County, per the Gove County Sheriff’s Office.

Traffic was diverted via Kansas Highway 23 through Grainfield.  According to a witness, a semi-truck flipped over in a construction zone following a crash with a small truck.

There are no further details on the accident at this time.  The crash remains under investigation.  There is no further information on the injuries sustained by the victims of the accident.
