Three Individuals Sent to Hospital After Vehicle Becomes Engulfed in Flames
MACON, GA – According to an online news report at wgxa.tv, an accident involving a car that burst into flames occurred on Hawkinsville Road in Macon, Georgia, causing traffic to be at a standstill. *
It appears that two automobiles crashed into each other head-on when a white sports utility vehicle going in a northerly direction blew a tire, which caused the pieces to face oncoming traffic.
Per the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the sports utility vehicle, after its tire blew out, slammed into an 18-wheeler going in the opposite lane. The sports utility vehicle, as a result of the impact, then caught fire.
According to an officer with the Bibb County Sheriff’s office, there were no serious injuries reported in the accident. Minor injuries were sustained to the three individuals who were involved in the crash. There were two individuals in the semi-truck and one person driving the sports utility vehicle.
All three people were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The accident remains under investigation by local police. The current status of the three individuals involved in the crash is unknown at this time.
