One Killed, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Atlanta, Georgia
ATLANTA, GA. – According to an online news report posted at patch.com, one person was killed and four people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Atlanta, Georgia. Authorities have yet to release detailed information about the crash, which took place in the Downtown Connector of Atlanta.*
The wreck took place in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 9, in the Downtown Connector in Atlanta. Multiple vehicles were somehow involved in a collision at about 4 a.m. that day on what is one of the metro’s busiest highways. Patch reports that the accident occurred by Fair Drive.
It is not yet clear what kinds of vehicles were involved or how many vehicles were involved in the wreck in total. Authorities investigating at the scene did not provide immediate information about the nature of the accident or the factors that might have led to the accident. The Patch report did not say whether any drivers were cited at the scene.
Patch reports that one fatality and multiple injuries resulted from the accident. Police confirmed that the victim who died was a woman, and that four other people sustained injuries. Two of the injured persons were in serious condition, according to Patch and police officers. None of the persons involved was identified.
Patch says the accident caused the area of the highway to close down for several hours at the beginning of the morning commute. The highway was reopened at about 6:30 a.m., so rush hour traffic was minimally affected.
Police are still in the process of investigating the wreck, and no further information had been released at the time of the Patch report.
