Woman Shoots and Kills Man After Witnessing Clayton County Traffic Accident
CLAYTON COUNTY, GEORGIA – As reported online by www.wsbtv.com and www.fox5atlanta.com, a woman shot and killed a man following an argument over an accident.*
Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on May 7, 2019, a 21-year-old woman allegedly witnessed a hit-and-run accident. She chased down the driver she believed fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident and attempted to block his pickup truck with her Jeep. The accident happened at the intersection of Riverdale Road and Forest Parkway near the I-285 exit in Clayton County.
One witness reported that the 21-year-old woman jumped out of her Jeep and was punching the man in the pickup truck, yelling at him to get out of the car. The woman then pulled out a 9mm gun and shot the 62-year-old man in the abdomen, a wound that ultimately killed him. The witness also stated that the woman was wearing a “bad girl vest” before shooting the man and that she changed into a pink sweater after doing so.
Clayton County Police had been directing traffic when they were informed by a passerby that a man had been shot. The police found the man, who was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound. However, the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
While some reports indicate this incident was an act of road rage, authorities are not investigating this incident as an act of road rage, and are planning to release additional information as the investigation unfolds. The 21-year-old woman was arrested, taken into custody and charged with murder. The judge overseeing the case denied a request for bond.
