Motorcyclist Injured in Vehicle Accident in The Villages, Florida
THE VILLAGES, FL. – According to an online news report published at villages-news.com, a motorcyclist was injured in a vehicle accident in The Villages, Florida. The news report says the motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, and the driver of the other vehicle was cited in connection with the wreck.*
The accident occurred on County Road 466A in The Villages. Florida Highway Patrol and Villages-News report that at about 2:30 p.m. that day, a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on County Road 466A. At the same time, a 2018 Toyota Camry was traveling east on the road.
At the intersection with Sembler Way, the Toyota attempted to make a left-hand turn into Colony Plaza. Troopers report the light at the intersection was yellow, and the Toyota turned into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist attempted to brake, but the two vehicles ended up colliding.
Villages-News reports the motorcyclist was injured in the collision, and emergency crews took him to Ocala Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was identified as a 22-year-old man from the Village of Rio Grande, Florida. The extent of his injuries and his current medical condition were not provided in the report. Villages-News says Troopers indicated he was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.
The news report does not say whether the Toyota driver or anyone else in the Toyota was injured. The driver was identified as a 71-year-old man from the Village of Fenney, Florida. Villages-News states that Troopers issued him a citation for failure to yield.
