Pedestrian Killed in Vehicle Collision in Crisp County, Georgia
CRISP COUNTY, GA. – According to a news report posted online at wgxa.tv, a pedestrian was killed in a vehicle collision in Crisp County, Georgia. It appears the pedestrian was trying to walk across a highway. Authorities’ investigation into the accident is ongoing, and it is not yet clear if the driver of the vehicle will face charges in connection with the collision.*
The accident took place in the morning on Monday, May 6, on Georgia Highway 90 in Crisp County. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office and WGXA report that at approximately 7 a.m., a pedestrian was walking in the northbound lane of Highway 90, when a northbound Toyota Tacoma pickup truck ran into him.
Deputies said that the pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway at the time of the accident. The collision occurred near Brock Road. Authorities have not yet identified a cause for the collision.
WGXA reports that the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in the crash, and officials pronounced him dead at the scene. He was identified as a 46-year-old man from Cordele, Georgia.
The driver of the Toyota was not identified in the news report, though the report said that he or she was not injured in the accident. It is unclear how many people were riding in the Toyota at the time of the accident.
