On April 29, 2019, three people sustained fatal injuries in a Durham County accident on N.C. 751. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on N.C. 751 near Kerley Road and close to the Orange County line.
A 68-year-old Stoneville man who allegedly caused the fatal accident is facing three counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle. One report indicates that the driver and front-seat passenger of the Cadillac were not wearing seatbelts. The backseat passenger of the Cadillac, as well as the driver of the Mercedes Benz, were reportedly wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the Mercedes Benz was transported to Duke University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Once the 68-year-old Stoneville man recovers from his injuries, law enforcement officials can obtain the man’s statement to help determine what factors contributed to the cause of the head-on collision.
