Woman, Three Children Injured in Vehicle Accident in Banks County, Georgia
BANKS COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story reported at banksnewstoday.com, a woman and three children were injured in a vehicle accident that took place in Banks County, Georgia. The woman reportedly sustained serious injuries, and one of the children was in critical condition following the accident.*
The accident took place on May 1 on Highway 441 in Banks County. Georgia State Patrol and Banks News Today report that a vehicle was traveling on Highway 441 and tried to make a left-hand turn into the Historic Homes Highway. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic and crashed into a second vehicle.
It is not clear which direction the vehicles were traveling, and descriptions of the vehicles were not provided. Banks County Fire and EMS responded to the scene and reported multiple injuries.
Banks News Today reports that a woman and three children were inside the first vehicle, and all four of them were injured. The woman was was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Two of the children were also taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and they were reportedly in stable condition.
Banks News Today states the third child was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. He was then transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in critical condition. The report says he was later transferred to Atlanta Children’s Hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle reportedly refused treatment beyond the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
