Pedestrian Killed in Collision with Vehicle in Santa Rosa County, Florida
SANTA ROSA COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news story reported at srpressgazette.com, a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Investigators have released identifying information about the victim, and it is not clear at this time whether any charges will be filed against the driver of the vehicle.*
The collision occurred on the evening of April 28 on State Road 10 in Santa Rosa County. Florida Highway Patrol and Santa Rosa’s Press Gazette report that at approximately 10:50 p.m. that day, a pedestrian was walking in an eastbound lane of State Road 10. Near the area of U.S. Highway 90, the pedestrian was struck by a Ford F-150 that had been traveling east.
Florida Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was walking inside the right eastbound lane, and the Ford was in the same lane. Troopers indicated that the driver of the Ford said he did not see the pedestrian prior to the collision. Troopers have not identified a cause for the accident but said in a report that they did not suspect alcohol was involved.
Santa Rosa’s Press Gazette reports that the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and did not survive. He was transported to Santa Rosa Medical Center. Officials identified him as a 22-year-old man from Milton, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the Ford was not injured in the accident. Authorities identified him as a 20-year-old man from Jay, Florida. Troopers are continuing to investigate the case, and at the time of the Santa Rosa’s Press Gazette report, they had not listed any charges.
