Ambulance Involved in Vehicle Accident in Columbus, Georgia

COLUMBUS, GA. – According to an online news story reported at, an ambulance was involved in a vehicle accident in Columbus, Georgia. Little information has been released about the collision at this time, and officials have not said whether anyone sustained injuries in the wreck.* 

The collision occurred in the evening on April 25 on Victory Drive in Columbus. Authorities and WTVM report that an ambulance and another vehicle somehow collided near the area of Victory Drive and Benning Drive at about 7 p.m. that day. 

It is not clear at this time what caused the collision or in what way the accident occurred. The report did not describe the accident or say what events might have led to the collision. It is unclear what direction each of the vehicles was traveling prior to the crash. 

The make and model of the second vehicle was not reported, nor was the emergency agency with which the ambulance was affiliated. The report from WTVM did not say whether the ambulance was transporting a patient or was on its way to the site of an emergency call. 

The drivers of both vehicles were not identified, and it is not clear if anyone was injured in the accident. At the time of the WTVM report, no additional information had been released by investigators. 

Columbus is located in Muscogee County, Georgia. The Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety reports that 8,123 vehicle collisions occurred in Muscogee County in 2017. More than 2,500 injuries occurred because of those accidents, as well as 26 fatalities.
