Multi-Vehicle Accident Reported in Pooler, Georgia

POOLER, GA. – According to a news report posted at, a multi-vehicle accident was reported on an interstate running through Pooler, Georgia. At the time of the WSAV report, officials had released few details about the accident. It is not clear if anyone involved in the wreck sustained injuries.* 

The accident occurred sometime on April 25, but the WSAV report does not provide a time for the accident. The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that a wreck had taken place on Interstate 16 in Pooler, involving multiple vehicles. The wreck occurred near the exit to Pooler Parkway. 

It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the collision or what kind of vehicles were involved. No vehicle descriptions were included in the news report. The Georgia DOT described it has a major accident that reportedly affected both the eastbound and westbound sides of the interstate. One lane on each side of I-16 was closed after the collision. 

Officials responding to the scene of the wreck did not say whether anyone was injured. It is unclear if paramedics were called to the site or if anyone needed ambulance transport to a hospital. None of the persons involved was identified. No further information had been released at the time of the WSAV report’s publishing online. 

Pooler is located in Chatham County, Georgia. According to the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, 15,063 vehicle collisions took place in the county in 2017. This was down from 15,806 in 2016. More than 5,000 injuries resulted from the 2017 crashes in Chatham County, as well as 29 deaths.
