Four People Injured in Chain-Reaction Crash in Winter Garden, Florida
WINTER GARDEN, FL. – According to a news story reported online at clickorlando.com, four people were injured in a chain-reaction crash in Winter Garden, Florida. Two of the injured persons were airlifted from the scene of the accident, according to the news report. No one involved has been identified at this time.*
The crash occurred in the afternoon on April 22 on State Road 429 in Winter Garden. Florida Highway Patrol and ClickOrlando report that at about 3:15 p.m., a southbound vehicle crashed into the back of another southbound vehicle in the area of mile marker 19 on State Road 429. The initial collision resulted in a chain-reaction of additional rear-end crashes.
It is not clear from the ClickOrlando report how many vehicles were ultimately involved in the wreck. Descriptions of the vehicles, including makes and models, were not provided in the report. Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to the scene, along with other emergency agencies, and they did not say how the initial collision happened.
ClickOrlando reports that two people involved in the collision were injured seriously enough that they needed to be airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center. One of these people was reported to be in critical condition. Neither of them was identified.
In addition, ClickOrlando reports that two other people were injured in the crash and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known, and they were also not identified.
Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash, and Troopers had not released additional details about the case at the time the ClickOrlando report was posted.
