Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash with Car in Cobb County, Georgia
COBB COUNTY, GA. – According to a news report posted online at mdjonline.com, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car in Cobb County, Georgia. It appears the car traveled into the path of the motorcycle on Veterans Memorial Highway, causing the two vehicles to collide.*
The accident took place in the morning on April 17 at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and James Road in Cobb County. The Cobb County Police Department and the Marietta Daily Journal report that at approximately 10:30 a.m. that day, a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria was headed northbound on James Road, approaching Veterans Memorial Highway.
At the intersection of the two roads, the Ford stopped at a stop sign, then proceeded onto Veterans Memorial Highway. Police say the Ford crossed into the path of a 2015 Harley Davidson FLTRXS motorcycle that was traveling on the highway, and the two vehicles crashed. The front of the motorcycle struck the front driver’s side of the Ford, according to police.
The Marietta Daily Journal reports that the motorcyclist was seriously injured in the wreck, and emergency crews took him to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was identified as a 39-year-old man from Powder Springs, Georgia. The report said his injuries were life-threatening. His current medical status is not known.
The driver of the Ford was not identified, and it is not clear from the news report if he or she was injured in the collision. The Cobb County Police Department is still investigating, and officers ask anyone who might have information about the wreck to contact them at (770) 499-3987.
