Floridians Injured in Vehicle Accident in Sherman County, Kansas
SHERMAN COUNTY, KS. – According to a news story posted online at hayspost.com, two Floridians were injured in a vehicle accident that occurred in Kansas. One other person was also injured in the crash. Authorities are still in the process of determining the cause of the accident, and no information about citations or charges has been reported.*
The accident occurred in the early morning on April 14 on Interstate 70 in Sherman County, Kansas. At approximately 3:30 a.m. that day, according to Kansas Highway Patrol and the Hays Post, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on I-70. About eight miles outside of Goodland, Kansas, the Chevy crashed into the back of a 2010 Dodge 350 also traveling east.
After impact, the Dodge traveled further east, then crossed over the median and entered the westbound lanes of the interstate. The Dodge then left the roadway and came to a stop in a north ditch. The Chevy continued east then left the roadway and came to a stop in a south ditch.
The Hays Post reports that the driver of the Chevy and a passenger in the Chevy were injured in the accident and taken to a hospital in Goodland for treatment. The driver was identified as a 27-year-old woman from Sebastian, Florida. The passenger was identified as a 26-year-old man from Fellsmere, Florida.
In addition, the Hays Post reports that the driver of the Dodge was injured and also taken to the hospital. He was identified as a 48-year-old man from Medford, Oklahoma. Kansas Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
