Motorcyclist Killed in Vehicle Crash in Bibb County, Georgia
BIBB COUNTY, GA. – According to a news story reported online at 13wmaz.com, a motorcyclist was tragically killed in a vehicle crash in Bibb County, Georgia. The victim has been identified by officials, as has the other driver, and authorities say that charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.*
The fatal accident happened on the evening of April 13 on Eisenhower Parkway in Bibb County. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and 13WMAZ report that a blue Chevrolet Impala was traveling toward Eisenhower Parkway and crossed over the roadway to get to Laveta Drive.
In crossing into Eisenhower Parkway, the sheriff’s office says the Chevy driver traveled into the path of a Kawasaki ZX12R motorcycle. The two vehicles then crashed into each other. It is not clear at this time what caused the accident, as authorities did not immediately say why the Chevy driver allegedly did not yield to oncoming traffic.
The motorcyclist was severely injured in the wreck, according to the report, and emergency responders took him to the Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia. 13WMAZ reports that he died at the hospital from his injuries. He was identified as a 54-year-old man. The report did not include his city of residence. It appears he was the sole rider on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
It is unclear from the 13WMAZ report if the driver of the Chevy was injured in the collision. He was identified as a 26-year-old man. His city of residence was also not reported, and it is not clear if any passengers were in the Chevy. Deputies say that charges are pending the outcome of their investigation, which is still ongoing.
