One Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-95 in Martin County, Florida
MARTIN COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report posted by tcpalm.com, one person was injured in a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 95 in Martin County Florida. The cause of the accident is not known at this time, and the injured person has not yet been identified by officials investigating the crash.*
The accident occurred in the late afternoon and caused traffic to become blocked on the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Martin County. TC Palm and Florida Highway Patrol report that a tractor-trailer and a truck were somehow involved in an accident at approximately 4:50 p.m. on I-95 South near mile marker 93 in Hobe Sound, Florida.
The make and model of the truck was not provided, nor was any information regarding the trucking carrier. Authorities did not say how the accident took place or what circumstances led to the accident.
TC Palm reports that one person was injured and taken to a local hospital. The report says authorities did not say what hospital, and the person was not identified. It is unclear if this person was riding in the truck or the tractor-trailer.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office posted a message on social media following the accident, saying, “FHP / MCSO working multiple crashes on I-95 southbound near the 94mm. Southbound lanes are temporarily shut down. Southbound traffic being diverted onto Bridge Road.”
The interstate began reopening around 6 p.m. No information was provided in the TC Palm report about the other crashes referenced in the social media post from the sheriff’s office.
