Man Struck by Two Vehicles at Watson Boulevard and Knodishall Drive in Warner Robins, Georgia
WARNER ROBINS, GA. – According to a news report published online at wgxa.tv, a man was struck by two vehicles in Warner Robins, Georgia. WGXA reports that the man did not survive due to the sever nature of his injuries. At this time, charges have not been filed against either of the drivers involved, according to WGXA.*
The accident occurred in the late evening in Warner Robins. According to the Warner Robins Police Department and WGXA, at about 9:50 p.m., a man was walking in the area of Watson Boulevard and Knodishall Drive and was struck by a passing vehicle.
The vehicle was described as a 2008 Dodge Charger. It had reportedly been traveling eastbound in the left lane of Watson Boulevard when it hit the man. After this collision, police say that a second vehicle hit the man. This vehicle was described as a Chevrolet Impala.
The Warner Robins Police Department states that the man was crossing Watson Boulevard outside of a crosswalk. However, police and WGXA did not indicate whether a crosswalk was available at the intersection with Knodishall Drive. WGXA reports that police confirmed the man was fatally injured and sadly died at the scene. He was 51 years old, according to the report.
The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that the accident closed all lanes of the Georgia 247 Connector at Nelson Drive. Motorists were encouraged to seek alternate routes until about 11 p.m. that day.
The Traffic Unit of the Warner Robins Police Department is investigating the accident, and according to WGXA, no charges have been filed against the drivers.
