Three Dead After Baldwin County, Georgia, Vehicle Accident

BALDWIN COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story from, three people are dead after a vehicle accident that occurred in Baldwin County, Georgia. It appears the accident involved only one vehicle and took place near the Putnam County, Georgia, line.*

The accident occurred on the afternoon and involved a Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle had been traveling on North Columbia Street in Baldwin County and somehow crashed near Lake Sinclair and the Putnam County line. The report from 41 NBC says that three people tragically died in the crash.

Another news report from has additional information about the wreck. This report indicates that the Chevy driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the roadway, and struck a culvert. The vehicle then overturned and landed on its roof. 

The cause of the collision is still not known. It is not clear why the driver lost control and left the roadway. The Chevy was the only vehicle involved in the collision, according to the 13 WMAZ report.

The report from 13 WMAZ says five people in total were inside the Chevy, and two injured persons had to be airlifted from the scene. They were transported to the Medical Center, Navicent Health with serious injuries, and their current medical statuses have not been released. None of the people involved has been identified. 

Georgia State Patrol Troopers and deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and closed all of the roadway to allow for victim transport and investigation at the site. Georgia State Patrol is leading the accident investigation, and Troopers have not yet released further information about the crash.
