Car Crashes into Beauty Salon in Cobb County, Georgia
COBB COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story from ajc.com, a car crashed into a beauty salon in Cobb County, Georgia. The crash into the salon was preceded by a two-vehicle collision on the roadway outside of the salon. One person was killed in the collision, while another was seriously injured.*
A red Mitsubishi Lancer and a gray Dodge Journey were traveling west on Veterans Memorial Highway in Cobb County. Near the intersection with Floyd Road, one of the vehicles tried to change into another lane and collided with the other. It is not clear at this time which of the vehicles attempted the lane change.
Following the impact between the two vehicles, the Lancer careened toward the Eye Am Beauty salon off of Veterans Memorial Parkway. The Lancer turned onto its roof and crashed through one of the walls of the salon. Glass and debris were scattered all over the scene. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports that no one was inside the salon at the time.
Cobb County Police and the Atlanta-Journal Constitution report that the driver of the Lancer suffered fatal injuries in the wreck and died at the scene. He was identified as a 22-year-old man from Lithia Springs, Georgia. A passenger in the Lancer was seriously injured, according to police, and he was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was identified as a 39-year-old man from Lithia Springs.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the driver of the Journey sustained minor injuries and was taken to WellStar Cobb Hospital for treatment. She was identified as a 42-year-old woman from Attalla, Alabama.
