GAINESVILLE, GA. – According to an online news report from, a man was killed in a vehicle wreck in Gainesville, Georgia. The report from the Gainesville Times says charges will not be filed.*

The Gainesville Times report does not specify the time of the accident. It occurred on Georgia Highway 365 and involved two vehicles. Georgia State Patrol says a Toyota Camry was traveling on Belton Bridge Road, approaching Ga. 365.

At the intersection with Ga. 365, Troopers say the driver of the Toyota failed to yield to oncoming traffic and entered the intersection in the path of a Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling north on Ga. 365. The Chevy then struck the Toyota on the passenger’s side.

It is not yet clear what caused the driver of the Toyota to enter the intersection before traffic was clear. The Gainesville Times report did not elaborate on the circumstances of the collision.

Georgia State Patrol Post Commander Auston Allen said the driver of the Toyota was critically injured in the collision. The Gainesville Times reports that officials sadly pronounced him dead at the scene. He was identified as a 75-year-old man from Lula, Georgia. It does not appear that any passengers were in the Toyota with the victim.

The driver of the Chevy sustained minor injuries, according to the Gainesville Times. It is unclear if he was transported away from the scene for treatment. The report did not say whether any passengers were in the Chevy.

The accident is under investigation, but the Gainesville Times reports that no charges will be filed in connection with the wreck.
