Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Berkeley County, South Carolina
BERKELEY, SC. – According to a news story published online at live5news.com, a man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck that took place in Berkeley County, South Carolina. It is not yet clear why the crash occurred, according to the news reports, but authorities are still in the process of investigating.*
The crash occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 6, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol. At that time, a 2018 Toyota pickup truck (model not reported) was traveling westbound on United Drive in the Huger area of Berkeley County. Troopers say that for reasons still unknown, the driver of the truck traveled off the roadway.
The Toyota left the right side of the roadway, then turned over and crashed into several trees. South Carolina Highway patrol and Live 5 did not list any potential explanations for the accident. They did not identify any factors that might have caused the pickup driver to leave the road. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The driver of the Toyota was seriously injured in the accident, according to Troopers and the news report. Live 5 reports that emergency responders transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment, but he died from his injuries. Live 5 states that the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet reported identifying information about the victim. It does not appear that any passengers were in the truck.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash, and at the time of the Live 5 report’s publishing, Troopers has not released additional information.
