Serious Vehicle Accident Reported in Carter County, Tennessee
CARTER COUNTY, TN. – According to an online news story posted by wcyb.com, a serious vehicle accident was reported in Carter County, Tennessee. No information regarding the events of the collision was included in the news report. It appears that at least one person had to be airlifted from the scene for medical treatment.*
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a vehicle accident at Gap Creek Road that day, in the area of Dry Creek Road in Carter County. It is not clear how the accident happened or how many vehicles were involved.
Vehicle makes and models were not included in the report, nor was any information about potential factors contributing to the wreck. It is unclear how many people were involved and how many people were injured. Photos taken at the scene and posted to the WCYB website show an ambulance on site, as well as a medical helicopter.
WCYB reports that one person was being airlifted from the site, and crews were in the process of extricating another person from a vehicle. It is not clear if this person was also airlifted to a hospital, but the WCYB report says crews were waiting on a second helicopter.
The Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, as well as EMS and law enforcement. The roadway was completely shut down to allow access at the scene and investigation. Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area during this time and find other routes, if possible.
