A Man is Charged with a Hit and Run Accident Injuring Four People in Fort Myers, Florida
FORT MEYERS, FL – According to an online news report at nbc-2.com, a man is being charged with a DUI and for failure to stay at the scene of a crash that caused serious injuries to four people.*
A man is currently facing charges for a DUI and hit and run related to his role in a causing an accident that left three people seriously injured and another critically injured. The accident occurred early in the morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 28 year old male was going northbound on the Michael G. Rippe Parkway north of Briarcliff Road at approximately 1:00 a.m. when he somehow lost control of his vehicle and slammed the rear of a 51 year old male’s Kia Soul. The accident caused the 51 year old to lose control of his vehicle, cross the median and slam into a Honda Civic.
The Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the 28 year old drove for a short period of time and then stopped at a local gas station at the intersection of Six Mile Cypress Parkway and the Michael G. Rippe Parkway.
The 51 year old man, the female driver of the Honda Civic, and her passenger, aged 28, were all transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where they were listed as in serious condition. Another passenger in the Honda Civic sustained more serious injuries and is listed as in critical condition.
The hit and run driver faces DUI charges, DUI related property damages, DUI causing serious injury, and a hit and run resulting in serious injuries. He is currently at the Lee County Jail for causing the tragic accident.
