School Bus Crash Injures Students on Buckeye Road in Dublin, Georgia

DUBLIN, GA. — According to an online news report at, students were injured in a school bus accident on Buckeye Road in Johnson County, Georgia.*

A news release from a local hospital indicates that students were treated for injuries associated with a school bus accident on Buckeye Road in Johnson County, Georgia.  The accident happened close to 4:15 p.m.  Troopers were dispatched to the scene of a school bus accident where the bus overturned. Multiple injuries were reported.  

The preliminary investigation of the accident indicates that the driver was trying to navigate a curvature in the road going northbound on Buckeye Road close to Watermelon Road.  The bus left the roadway and the driver tried to overcorrect before losing control of the vehicle.  After overcorrecting, the bus flipped over. The bus contained sixteen children and two adults on board.  At least three of the children sustained serious injuries in the crash.  Several others were taken to area hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries.

Two people who sustained injuries were transported to Fairview Park Hospital and the Washington County Medical Center.  

According to an update on the accident, eighteen individuals were listed as in stable condition in connection with the bus that overturned. To accommodate the amount of people at the hospital, they opened up an additional waiting room close to the emergency department.

It appears that the Dublin High School girls soccer team was on the bus at the time when the accident occurred.  The bus was traveling off of Buckeye Road when it flipped over.   The soccer team was on their way to a game in Washington County.
